negatively about this hotel; the restaurant is delicious, the interior design is tasteful and the rooftop pool overlooking Passeig de Gracia, is definitely a treat. If you have time, don’t miss the hotel’s famous “tea time” every day at 4pm, which offers an assortment of high quality teas and cakes. The building used to be a bank and you can still see traces of it throughout the premises.

Situated on the busy Passeig de Gracia, surrounding by designer stores and restaurants, the Mandarin Oriental really stands out with its stunning stone-carved façade. Inside, the hotel offers all the luxury and comfort one expects from the Mandarin Oriental brand. I love the clean lines and contemporary style of the rooms, filled with classy furniture and all the mod cons I could possibly need. With six different dining options, from creative Catalan, to Nikkei and seafood, you’ll be spoilt for choice, but if you don’t have time to try all of them, I’d recommend the Mimosa Garden. It offers al fresco dining in lovely garden, surrounded trees and lavender plants. The unique Banker’s Bar also shouldn't be missed, providing delicious nibbles and cocktails in a sophisticated environment. The bar itself is decorated with the old original keys and security boxes from when the hotel used to be bank. Don’t miss the hotel’s classic afternoon tea, housed in a luxury, light-filled conservatory.

This place is just amazing. You walk in a huge building on Passeig de Gracia and the first thing you notice is the good smell, the parfume, and the experience itself gets better and better. If in the lobby you can see art hanging on the walls and run into beautifully dressed people, on the top of the hotel you can enjoy a breathtaking view, in front of a small pond/pool that goes along the terrace. The pool inside instead is simply amazing, and you can relax in a very silent atmosphere. No need to say that the rooms are incredibly good looking, and whoever works there has great manners and welcoming skills! The menu of the restaurant was delicious and it is a pleasure to discover the city from the point of view of who is staying here. First because you are right next to two of the most beautiful and famous Gaudi works, then you can shop on Passeig the Gracia or just go for a great people watching walk.

High class hotel. Not only classy but expensive as well. Only Manolo Blahnik store in Barcelona is located in this hotel. The hotels bar has a nice small terrace where you can drink their fancy cocktails. You pay for what you drink so prepare to spend :)

Luxurious chic hotel in the middle of the high-end shopping district of Passeig de Gracia. Great pool, good restaurants.

In a busy city like Barcelona, it’s nice to come home to a hotel with an overabundance of ways to kick back and take the edge off. From its chill out Mimosa Garden with its Lebanese cuisine, to the 9th floor wading pool (only two feet deep), to the trendy Banker’s Bar where you can actually see the old metal security boxes displayed above the bar and embedded into the walls (it’s a converted bank building), the Mandarin is all about R & R. Check out tea time everyday in the main lobby at 4pm (proper, English style tea time). For a hotel in this price range however, the rooms are a bit on the small side, however the central location more than makes up for it.
