This is the backpackers haven in Bangkok but I’m honestly not a huge fan of it. You will not experience partying in Thailand here as it is a foreigners free for all. Drinks are cheap and street food is everywhere. The Club on Khaosan is a decent club if you’re trying to get off of the street and into some A/C.

Khao San Road may be a backpacker ghetto, or better THE backpacker ghetto, but it is also the decmpression chamber between East and West and a necessary rite of passage.

Khao San Road is a must visit place for any individual looking for a party. It is touristic and hectic but its energy and carefree vibe makes it the ideal location for nightlife.

Great vibes during the day and especially at night, nice pubs and good clubs. Standard Bangkok shopping (ie shops have similar touristic stuff)

I loved the place from the first time I stepped foot on it in 1990. It has gone through a certain gentrification nowadays with some of the cheaper places upgrading, and there are some 3/4 star hotels now, but don't let that take away from the street theatre experience. Go at night for the carnival atmosphere, hawkers abound, bars, eats and other miscellaneous entertainments. Great place, just go with an open mind. Oh, and the hooker quotient is fairly low when compared to other nightlife streets.

Khaosan Rd is a backpacker zone in Old city area of Bangkok, near the Grand Palace, this is a mixing bowl of cultures where East meets West with a hilarious creation of Markets, Restaurants, bars, and nightlife, it's trendy and bizarre, once the home for backpackers - it's now where thousands of people troll the 3 street zone (high, medium, low) looking for "happiness" there's plenty for everyone .. up to you, more in media hub page http://goo.gl/JzanQq

It's a little dirty and WAY touristy, but you kind of can't miss this infamous street in Bangkok if you're into partying. Every night of the week, the bars are alive with buckets, balloons and all sorts of debauchery. It's the main backpacker area, so you'll get to meet tons of other travelers who will totally understand if you get a little wild. That's what this place is all about! Just don't judge Bangkok if this is all you see - there's so much more to the city, especially in terms of nightlife. But if you don't mind getting a little messy, it's definitely worth a stop.

Pad Thai. This is one of Thailand’s most popular street food dishes and a large number of stalls selling pad Thai can be found on and around Khaosan Road. This dish features fried noodles mixed with bean sprouts, dried shrimp and sometimes chicken. You can add dried chilli, soy sauce, salt and sugar to the dish to taste and a vegetarian version is also available. Many of the pad Thai sellers offer different types of noodles to choose from and you can sit at the side of the road while munching this dish.

Khao San Road is a must do for backpackers and those looking to party. The street is lined with bars, restaurants, street vendors and rambunctious revelers. If you're looking for somewhere to meet people, party, eat late definitely don't miss this area.

I've stayed at the NapPark hostel which is just a stones throw away from the party center, yet far away enough from the noise if you want to relax.

Khao San Road is very popular for tourists and backpackers who like shopping here. There are so many all kinds of shops here. You can buy whatever you like or eat Thai street food.

If you travelled half way around the world just to seek other people like yourself then this might be your place. I prefer exploring authentic locations found off the beaten path.

Khaosan Road is a must-go-to-place as a backpacker. It's a place that is alive MOST at night. The locals are there to sell you food, clothing, tattoos, drinks, and mostly a good time. Be wary of those who may overprice their wares- most items can be found for 50 baht or cheaper at popular stores such as Big C. There are many places to stay on Khaosan Road itself, and it's very very budget friendly. If you're looking for a good time in Bangkok, this is a great place to go to!

It is a dirty sleezplace. If you are interested how prostitues and drunk backpackers looks like - visit this place. Lots of sex shows etc. definitely not place for families with kids. If you are lonely backpacker you will meet many new people who are doing the same like you in there.

The famous Khan San Road! You will either love or hate "the original backpacker district." Personally, I love khao San road and whenever I visit Thailand, I always start off my trip with a few nights in Khao San.

The mother and archetype of backpacker ghettos the world over, Khaosan is either the dream or the nightmare of the committed traveller: cheap, divey lodging, 75-cent pad thai, plastic buckets of redbull and Thai whisky, and more shady and colorful characters than you can shake a stick at. WE DO NOT CHECK ID announces one bar sprinkled with blearly-eyed gap-year kids, who just down the street can can buy everything from fake driver's licenses to fake press passes. For the full experience, grab a Beer Chang from the 7-Eleven and just walk the street, taking it all in. Love it or hate it, it's an experience.

This place is filled with tourist! But it is a fun street to visit for shopping, massages, restaurants, and people watching. The street food such as pad thai for 50 baht or coconut ice cream for 40 baht. definitely a place to check out at night in Bangkok.

Khao San Road is the focal point of all backpackers in Southeast Asia. It's possible to meet people from all over the world traveling low badget but there is nothing interesting to see. It's convenient for those who need to take a break after a bus trip (many tour buses stop right there) and then leave for other destinations. Nice book stores and guides used or photocopied

Perhaps the original but maybe just most famous backpacker ghetto in the world. Chock full of guesthouses, cafes, street food, shopping, western food catering to drunk backpackers. It was/ still is a shopping district for Thais, but it has become overrun with foreigners and now is more famous for the party center of backpackers.
