difference being that the prices at Royal Sonesta won't make you think twice. They have really thought of everything you need. Highly professional staff can be a bit on the snobby side, but for the most part were courteous and friendly. Jonathan, the concierge on duty, was a standout -- truly a pro and took great care of us. The bartender at Explorers (in-house bar) was also genuinely friendly and wonderful. The rooms are simply spectacular. You are not going to want to leave EVER. In fact, I would live here in a heartbeat and found out that some people do! What an incredible view of the harbor. Definitely make that request if you're going to spend a couple of nights here. Beds fit for a queen. Classy decor. AND Keurig brewers in each room! If you're wanting to treat yourself or a guest, you will not be disappointed. On foot, you are minutes from the Convention Center, Camden Yards and Inner Harbor. By car, less than 15 minutes from Mt. Vernon, Federal Hill/Ft. McHenry, Harbor East, Little Italy and Fells Point. That is ... if you ever decide it's necessary to leave the hotel.

This hotel was fantastic- it has everything you could ask for: great location, amazing view, a luxurious interior, a lovely pool and fitness center, an excellent restaurant, etc. etc. etc.
The hotel used to be the InterContinental, but they switched hands a couple years ago and the hotel went through a complete refresh, so take older reviews with a grain of salt because this has definitely become one of Baltimore's best hotels. The staff is extremely courteous and friendly, and the rooms are huge and very nicely appointed. One of the best parts is the Explorers bar/restaurant- it's on an upper level, so you really get a beautiful view of the harbor, plus the food and drinks were super tasty. The fitness facility and indoor pool is on the roof level, which is really cool. I know they host weddings here, to my envy- it's such a pretty location. You're also within walking distance of everything the Inner Harbor has to offer.
One little detail that stood out: they have a bee apiary. The colony is up to 30,000 bees, and the hotel works with BaltimoreHoney.org to actually harvest the honey for use in schools and food consumption- they even integrate it into their restaurant menu. Just one of those little details that show that while Sonesta is a franchise, they really work with the cities they build in and help fund local initiatives.

This hotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly and personal. They have a very cool bee hive where they harvest honey and use in their restaurant. They also have a room blocks that are 2 actual hotel rooms but they have one main door and then almost a foyer then they individual room doors and you can close the main door and open the other rooms door if you have couples or families staying there together and don't want to bother the other guest on that floor... kind of hard to explain but a really awesome feature. They Harbor views are spectacular because they have the bay windows and so it makes it seem like your seeing even more then your average flat window. Definitely would come back here again! Just across the street from the Inner Harbor so practically everything you would need sightseeing, tours, food, entertainment, and museums all within walking distance!

With the name and location of this hotel, I was expecting a lot more. I felt the amenities and furnishings were a bit dated and the staff was a bit abrupt and impatient. Granted, I was there during a big wedding and they had their hands full, but there's no excuse to be made to feel 2nd best. On the plus side, I love their Explorer Lounge - it's a throwback to the days of Hemingway, big game safaris and classy university professors with double lives. The views from Harbor-facing rooms are splendid. And I agree with Heather, the art deco living bee hive a is pretty darn cool feature!

Lovely hotel on Baltimore's Inner Harbor that really wins points with me with the bay window views on the waterview side of the building. The amenities are fair and the location convenient, particularly if you plan to visit both the Harbor and Camden Yards. In it's time, this was one of Baltimore's finest hotels, but it is beginning to show the wear of its age. There are better hotels along the the water as well as more centralized locations for the Inner Harbor, but this one is nice.

Couldn't have asked for anything more. A couple of blocks from the Harborplace. A couple of blocks from Camden Yards, home of the Orioles. Safe. Clean. Nice pool/hot tub. Incredibly friendly staff. Didn't try the restauarant, but it seemed very nice. Did partake of the bar and enjoyed a nice Merlot while my friend had a burger that he seemed to enjoy.

Just a breath of fresh air after an annoying stay in NYC. Won't be the last time I stay here.
