harbor, maybe 20 to the stadiums, and then maybe 15 to downtown proper. That doesn't mean it's in a deserted area, it just in a weird spot. That being said, the hotel is decent. It didn't blow me away, but it struck me as more of a business oriented hotel rather than one where people come to relax. It looked like they were holding a conference later in the week- there were lots of signs up advertising it (not a bad thing- just be aware in case you don't like to be around large groups). The staff was fine, didn't go out of their way but were courteous enough. The inside was clean, there was a nice sized lounge area. It didn't look like it hadn't recently been renovated, but it wasn't outdated either- middle of the road. If you're in town for business, the convention center is right across the street so you cant beat that. Otherwise, I'd say it's an ok hotel that serves it's purpose.

This Holiday Inn opened in 1964, as evidenced by the space-age flying saucer on its roof. This was actually a rotating restaurant known as Circle One, where the Beatles once dined. It's an event space now, but still looks groovy. Location is a bit out of center, but very close to the Lexington Market. Be sure to stop at Faidley's for some crab cakes.

You’re just about a block or so from Camden Yards when staying at Holiday Inn Inner Harbor. As soon as you enter the lobby, the upbeat music welcomes you to have a great time. The staff are really friendly and conversational, and there’s just a fun energy throughout your stay. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within just a couple of blocks, not to mention the Convention Center and Camden Yards. Inner Harbor is also just about a ten minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are really light and airy, as are the fully pillows and crisp linen-covered beds. There is a sparkling blue pool and a steamy sauna in the basement, and a full service cafe just off the lobby.

Nothing spectacular about this Holiday Inn, but it is very nice for a chain hotel. For example, they serve Zeke's coffee which is a Baltimore staple -- nice touch! And the rooms were renovated, clean and comfortable. Overall, I think it's probably a little blah if you're looking to spoil yourself. Staff was nice, but the check-in line was a little slow and I felt like there should have been at least one more person working (there were 8 people in line and 1 person working during what I imagine is typically a busy check-in time).

The location is pretty central, but there are hotels a lot closer to the fun and charm of Baltimore for about the same price.

Otherwise, it's a great choice for business travelers (less than 5 minute walk to Convention Center), students or budget travelers (great rates) as well as families and tourists (pool, lots of local attractions/activities including Camden Yards).

The Holiday Inn in the Inner Harbor area is around a 3.5 on a 1 - 5 scale. Like most chain hotels, it has conventional moderate furniture and decor through out the hotel with reasonable hospitality services, but the rooms are nicely renovated for relaxation and a perfect nightly sleep.
