The hotel is in a good central location and a great base to explore downtown or stay at if you are on business or in town for a convention. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms are fine.

Centrally located in Austin with a full set of amenities, the Hilton Austin is a perfect place to stay if you plan on being at the convention center or just downtown Austin in general. Nothing too unique but you will have a comfortable stay and like the location.

Centrally located hotel, the Hilton hosts numerous conventions and conferences as its right across the street from be convention center. There are a ton of restaurants and bars walking distance.

Home Away from Home at SXSW. The lobby and 4th Floor Conference Area is nearly the center of the universe for SXSWi attendees. Place to see all that there is to see and more. Action packed even at 2AM.

Stayed here during a business conference held in the same hotel. Check-In was quick and easy, and the lady at the front answered all the questions I had. I originally picked a room with a King, but I came an hour prior to my check-in time, so they gave me a queen instead if I didn't want to wait. That was fine with me since i was a single traveler.

The room was nice, had a view of Austin. The room I got was a newly remodeled room. What kind of sucks is that I can still hear some construction going on from my room, but that didn't matter to me since I was out most of the day anyway. What's really cool is that you can control all the lights and ac from one little panel right next to your bed. I also tried their room service, and they got the food I ordered within 25 mins, even though they told me up to an hour.

Wifi isn't free though, which it should be, since I'm already paying for the room. But overall, I would stay here again.

The Hilton in Austin connects to the Convention Center, which makes it an even more desirable location, above and beyond the fact that it is in the heart of downtown. The property is large, and the rooms are updated. The pool area has a bar, and the gym is a decent size with a small spa. They allow pets, and the on-site restaurants, bars, meeting facilities, and lobby are very nice. Valet is optional, and self parking is in the underground garage.

Great location if you are here for a conference or on business. Hotel is clean and comfortable, service is okay. Restaurants and bars are all walkable but the hotel itself is off of the main drag which is nice.

Guests have access to the Tower Health Club. Awesome location downtown. Best bang for your buck as far as chains hotels go.

Yeah, it's huge and gets crowded for conferences, but a good location in downtown austin, and a fun place to go when you're burnt out from a night of partying

As with a lot of people, my first visit to Austin was for SXSW. I stayed at the Hilton, which was perfect location-wise as it is right next to the convention center and hosts a # of events. The hotel itself was nothing fancy and there was nothing that stood out overall. So no rave reviews, but I'd definitely stay here again.

The Hilton Austin is one of the largest hotel options in downtown austin. It serves the Austin Convention Center quite a bit, but can get booked up very quickly if there is an event going on. The hotel is a great location for convention events and for people that want to explore the east side more. The rooms are standard, nothing exceptional. They have a really nice club lounge to use if you choose for an upgraded room or if you have status. The hotel is really close to a handful of restaurant options like fogo de chao.

This is perfect for business travelers because it is convenient to downtown and since it is one of the largest hotels downtown, there is usually good availability.

Great hotel and location, but lacking in personality. Seemed very different than typical Austin culture. We had a nice room on the higher floors and access to the Executive Lounge for breakfast in the morning and appetizers from 5-7 PM. The appetizers were very tasty and a nice surprise. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, and quick to attend to any need.

Decent hotel - nothing fancy or exceptional. Rooms are comfortable - even the standard rooms have a couch and small sitting area. The location is a little more on the outer edge of downtown, but there are plenty of good restaurants in walking distance. Service at the valet is a little lacking but the people at the front desk are very efficient and on top of things.

The cavernous lobby, with long escalators to the left and a large, in-wall waterfall opposing the entrance, feels a bit impersonal, compared to the funky, downtown Austin vibe just around the corner, but the front desk staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable, and the rooftop pool has great views of the city. The Finn & Porter hotel restaurant is a great fine dining option, and location is very convenient for the Austin Convention Center.

There was a conference going on, and the folks were awful friendly. Felt very welcoming. Can't say the same about the front desk, though. :/

This is not the most glamorous hotel but I'm giving it 4 stars for SXSW. The lobby is busting with activity during the conference/music fest and it also has free wifi. It is also a main end up point at the end of the night when all the parties/show end. If you want to be close to the panels then I recommend staying here.

A nice, pretty standard business hotel. It is what you would expect from a large Hilton - clean, comfortable rooms, central location, and very little in the way of charm or personality. If you are here for work or are not planning on spending much time in the hotel, this is fine. If you are there for vacation and are looking for something more memorable, there are more exciting options in town.
