Athens is full of ancient history, architecture, and great food. The city is rather big so plan for a lot of time between all of the historic sites.

Although the center and most of the interesting places to see are close to the Acropolis, it still is one the must see cities in Europe.

More than 3000 years of Western history, from then till now all in one, super vibrant city. Sort of like a big civizilation soup.
Great night life, more things to do and see than you possibly shake a stick at. Easy access to beautiful Islands, beaches and countryside.
Probably the most reasonably priced place to visit in Europe.
Go there love it!

Athens is a big city with a lot of history! The views of the acropolis and temples are simply breathtaking! Very friendly locals and great food can be found just about anywhere! Transportation is easy to navigate and the American dollar goes very far!

An unusual city, very busy and lots of great food. Easy to complain that it is noisy and a bit grotty but there are some nice places and none of that, for me, detracted from the archaeological merits of the city. Worth a stop off for a few days on a grand tour but I think it would be hard to fill more than 4 or 5 days.

There is so much history in Athens that it may be difficult to even know where to begin to see everything. I wish we would have had more time in Athens than we did, but that means that we'll need to return some day.
