structure that's adjacent and get your parking ticket validated by the restaurant, so parking will be free. The problem with most restaurants around the Disney Report is the noise level and sheer madness - since the area is packed year round! So I really appreciated the quiet, upscale atmosphere this place has to offer. It's definitely one of the pricier restaurants in Anaheim, but they have a happy "Aloha Hour" from 4:30-6:30pm with special appetizers and cocktails all priced at $6 that would definitely be worth checking out. The menu is "Hawaiian Fusion" with an Asian influence. I had sushi that was excellent and my friend had seafood and also really liked her dish. We shared a chocolate soufflé for desert that was divine! If you have young children, this might not be the best place for you, but if your kids are older or very well behaved, give this place a try! Oh and btw, they also have a special "gluten free" menu and will create vegetarian dishes upon request.

Oh, what just happened? I haven´t been here in almost a year as we come here for our anniversary every year. Not too sure but now there is a new owner, Sunil Dharod. You will notice a new ownership sign as you walk in. Sunil is an Applebee Group operator in Texas and apparently, he bought all the Roys, except the ones in Hawaii.

As a result, Blooming Brands that also owns Flemings, Outback....those gift cards are no good here anymore. Of course, I´ve bought tons of those and couldn´t use it on this trip. Yikes!

Also, the happy hour menu change was something of a surprise for me. When I started coming here for HH, it used to be $5 for a drink. Now its $7. Their 1988 martini is my favorite here and it still is. Itś still decent price but what I didn´t expect from the new HH menu, is how they wrote down the Chocolate Souffle is $7, but you really do have to read it carefully because itś only $7 at the HH after 9pm, not the HH before 7PM. As a result, we had to pony up $12.

Do note tho, the chocolate souffle is probably one of the best I´ve had but the change in menu and the deceptive pricing is not making me want to come back here anymore.

Mango Mojito: 3 stars
Sweet but didnt have much of a mojito taste to this drink, needed more rum.

Appetizer:
Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Poke* Pine Nuts - Garlic Chipotle Aioli - Tempura Nori Chips:
4 stars
Tempura gave the chips an amazing texture that very nicely complemented the Ahi Poke. Wish they had given us more of the chips though.

Mushroom Dusted Alaskan Halibut w/Creamy Lemon Risotto - Herb Tomato Demi:
3.5 stars
Halibut wasn't as soft/ buttery as Chilean Halibut but was a bit on the dry side & the Risotto was on the mushy side.

Chocolate Molten Souffle w/Vanilla Ice Cream: 3.5 stars
Very chocolatey & on the denser side, this souffle needed more fluff to it. =)

Ambiance: 4 stars
Very nice & chill atmosphere. Reminded me a Hawaiian version of Flemings

This is a great date night/ special occasion restaurant to go to. =)

Service: 5 stars
Very attentive, they greeted us at the door, at our table the waiter saw to all our needs & we never had to look for him if we needed anything.

Tip: They validate parking here, but only for 1 hour. Why would you do that?? If people are going to eat here, they should validate for at least 2 -3 hours come on people!!

This Asian fusion restaurant is frequented by suits and conventioneers alike. This fine dining experience is lit dimly and has a formal ambiance that is perfect for you and your business associates to talk business over some fine seafood dining. Even though this restaurant is located at Anaheim Gardenwalk in the center of the Anaheim Resort, you will find an older refined crowd without screaming kids and wandering toddlers.

Roy's is an excellent restaurant chain. If you must dine in a touristy area, Roy's is a always safe choice. I have been to various Roy's and had not yet been disappointed. It is more expensive than PF Changs or McCormick but the quality speaks for itself. While the menu is not particularly innovative, most of the dishes are well prepared.

I found their sushi rolls to be quite likable even though I am not a big fan of fusion style rolls. The sauce is light and well balanced. Fish is fresh and the sushi rice is delightfully gooey.

Loco Moco, a staple Haiwaii dish, was just average. The sauce is too salty and lacked complexity. The burger patty is of good quality so that made up for it. I would also prefer a regular large egg over the tiny version that was used.

Their seafood were all excellent. Barramundi with the blue crab crust was cooked to perfection with wonderful texture. Hibachi Salmon and Misoyaki Butterfish from their Roy's Trio were amazing. The blackened ahi was ordinary. Just another typical seared style that is done to death.

The meat dishes were a bit shy compared to the seafood counterparts. Rack of lamb has some problems. Some part of the meat was undercooked and the texture was too stringy. I found the beef short ribs not as tender as I would like.

For dessert, just get their chocolate souffle. The molten chocolate was heavenly. The pineapple upside down cake, on the other hand, is forgettable. The texture was dry. It really should be more buttery and caramelized.

Good service. Nice food. What more can you ask for?

Friday night get together with some friends at Roy's Restaurant Anaheim.

I had a $25 dining credit summer promotion for being a Roy's email club member. Made reservations in advance for dinner and we were seated right away. Menus with a personalized page for the celebrant awaited browsing for everyone dining.

Tonights selections were-

Roy's trio (misoyaki butterfish, roasted macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi & grilled Atlantic salmon)-
Ah yes, the famed butterfish. Melt in your mouth good. I can see what the fuss is all about. Cut it with a fork tender. The mahi mahi was good, albeit a bit dry and the salmon was okay. Came accompanied with garlic rice.

Seared sea scallops-
Ginormous scallops served on top of pork belly, fennel, apple, Yukon puree with a coriander glaze. The scallops were sweet with a pleasing texture. Pork belly provided that unctuous pork fat flavor.

Sweet corn & blue crab crusted barramundi-
The barramundi was flaky, clean tasting with sweet blue crab meat crusted around it. My first time having barramundi. I'm a fan!

Teppanyaki shrimp-
Shrimp, sambal, tomato, garlic, Thai basil, asparagus served over housemade Togarashi noodles. The shrimp were large and cooked to perfection. Didn't care to much for the Togarashi noodles, but that 's more of me not being a pasta fan.

For dessert-

Chocolate souffle-
Piping hot, served with vanilla bean ice cream. A very nice dessert treat that can be shared quite nicely with others. It takes 20 mins to prepare, so make sure to order with your entrees unless you want to wait for awhile.

Complimentary biirthday treat-
Happy birthday to me! Okay, early birthday. I believe this is an egg custard topped with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. This was a delight. The custard was creamy & sweet, the shell was crumbly and the fruit were a great complement to an already amazing dessert. I blew out the candle without making a fire hazard ;p

Service was good. I was warmly greeted when I arrived a half hour before our scheduled reservation time, in which I was recommended dishes to try. Once seated, our server gave us a run down of the menu and told us the chef's recommendations of how our dishes should be cooked. which happened to be medium. Our finished plates were cleared quickly and waters were filled frequently.

Inside, the dining area is clean with soft lighting creating the perfect ambiance for an evening out. The men's restroom was clean and well-appointed.

Overall, I had a fabulous time with friends at Roy's Restaurant. A bit pricey, to be sure, but when offset by the $25 dining credit, I think it's definitely worth it. The misoyaki butterfish is the real deal and worth the hype. Next time, I plan to indulge in Roy's specialty sushi rolls. I almost pulled the trigger on those for tonight, but they will have to wait till the next outing.

Thanks to all who showed tonight. I had a great time, spending 3 hours enjoying each other's company and chatting up random things such as ghost stories and flower deliveries to a local jail. You had to have been there to understand what that was about ;p

Highly recommend!

Excellent place for a celebration dinner. Great service, tasty food, great happy hour menu. I got the 3 different fish combo dish - 3 different tastes, all on a long platter, all of them very delicious.

5 stars for their Aloha Hour alone! From 4:30-6:30pm, they serve up yummy small plates and all of their specialty cocktails for $5! Every one of their appetizers are delicious, but my favorites include the wagyu beef sliders, short rib tacos, tempura crusted spicy tuna rolls and lobster potstickers. Have a couple $5 mai tais to go along with your food and you're set!

A perfect spot to fuel up after a day at Disneyland.
