Great museum an absolute must do in Amsterdam. It can get really full during the high season so make sure you plan ahead. I went during spring break and the line went around the block.

This is a beautiful museum and takes you beyond what that average person thinks they know about Van Gogh's life.

Whilst I recommend booking ahead to skip the queues, it's major downfall is how busy it gets. There's no escaping the crowds.

An absolute must see! The big down side? The crowds...Even with the city pass, you still have to wait in line to get a ticket, so keep that in mind when planning this museum in your trip.

Total fun on Friday nights.
What a great place and Friday nights really bring this place to live.
Music, amazing tech displays and cash bar make it a plac to be.

Definitely worth the 17€. Don't know if I'd go again, but there is great history about Van Goh's life. 2.5 hours of a good chill time.

I love Van Gogh's paintings! It was overwhelming to see it in person as i have always seen it in books or in the internet. It depicts all different stages of his life. For all art students and enthusiasts, I would recommend you to go!

What can I say! Beautiful museum and the gift shop is super friendly and affordable. Two separate side so make sure you go to the correct building. So many floors and his life was so treasured by his brother. Whoa is all I could say when I left.

The Van Gogh museum is full of his beautiful pieces that are displayed over four floors of this building. If you're into museums, art and history, put this stop on your list. If there's a wait to purchase your ticket at the door, don't be discouraged - I was there earlier today (April 2017), and waited less than 20 minutes to get inside.

The collection is much smaller than you'd expect based on the size of the building but this is a must-see. Tickets should definitely be booked in advance online.

World famous museum dedicated to the great Theo van Gogh. Since it is so popular, best to book online in advance to circumvent the long waiting line

The Van Gogh Museum in certainly worth seeing if you're in Amsterdam. The Museum is home to some of the artist's most famous works, and does a beautiful job of illustrating who he was as a human being in addition to showcasing his art. When I visited, the additional exhibition wings were closed which was super disappointing considering the high 17 euro price tag. The huge crowds also got a bit frustrating, but if you're willing to be a little patient they are manageable. Plan at least 4 or 5 hours to see this museum. It's also important to note that tickets to the Van Gogh Museum are sold for entry at particular times. I'd recommend purchasing tickets for early in the morning so that you can take your time seeing everything.

Didn't have my favorites that I would have liked to study, but nonetheless, it was inspiring to see Van Gogh's paintings up close.

The line to purchase day of can get long, but it can also move fairly quickly.

No picture taking allowed, but I saw people sneaking photos without flash of course.

Beautiful museum that gets to the heart of a tortured artist. Go early or later in the afternoon.
