Hermitage Amsterdam has two large exhibition halls and two rooms for exhibition, so you can easily spend an entire day browsing the historical exhibits. You are sure to see two permanent exhibits: one regarding the building itself and one about the relationship between Russian and the Netherlands, suitable because this museum is a dependency of the great Russian Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg.

A nice museum that lacks the major crowds of the others. For anyone with an interest in the Romanov family, this is a must-see.

This museum has two primary exhibits-one for Dutch Golden Age art and one special exhibit (for us it was a history of the Romanovs). Both were good. I wish we could have seen more. But, for the money (the iAmsterdam pass makes the museum free), it wasn't bad at all! They also had some art on loan from the Rijkmuseum-which is not included in free admission in the iAmsterdam pass. So, this place was kind of like a sampler. Beautiful greenery surrounding it as well!

A wonderful respite for the heat, and a great Napoleon and Josephine exhibit currently running. Worth the entry fee.

A branch of the State Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg, Amsterdam’s Hermitage is housed in a building dating from the late 17th century. The building’s original purpose was as an elderly person’s home. Much has been renovated from the inside, which is now a light and airy space. However, the façade of the building, which at some point was the longest in the city, remains unchanged. There is also a beautiful inner courtyard, and even a restaurant. The exhibitions feature items from the original State Hermitage collection, and you will also find a lot of information devoted to Russia-NL relations, plus an exhibition devoted to elderly care in the Netherlands. During the weekend there is the chance to attend a musical event, with concerts and choirs taking place in the auditorium (to enter these events you have to show a valid museum ticket)

The Hermitage is the latest museum in Amsterdam having been opened in 2009. It's a division of the Heritage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, and they continuously share exhibits from the original Hermitage Museum in Russia.

The I Amsterdam sign. Lots of tourists flock here to take photos and to be in the photo as well. A one stop to complete your trip on Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam version of the famous Hermitage museum in st. Petersburg, very nice building, but it depends on the exposition if you have to go there.

Ever changing exhibits here. I saw the Rubens and Van Dyck exhibit which was great. Be forewarned though: if your bag isn't the size of a clutch, you'll have to check it.

Amsterdam did it again! the best museums ever and here is another one.
The Hermitage is an extension of the Hermitage in Russia. I saw amazing Matisse there but they exchange exhibition from time to time so check their website before the visit.

Interesante museo, aunque no sea de gusto popular ya que es una exposición permanente de Rusia en Amsterdam, cuando la visite había una muestra del Zar Pedro el Grande
