After trekking through the Inca Trail, Huayna Picchu, and Machu Picchu, my husband and I had severely tired feet and legs. What better way to recover than a massage!

We found Andean Hands Massage while walking through the city. There were tons of massage parlors competing with each other in the same area, but we liked how Andean Hands Massage offered hot showers since we were waiting to board a late night train out of town. We negotiated a price for two and off we went inside.

First things first, we took a shower. The shower stall was narrow and plain, basically something you would see in a normal household, but it was great to have a hot shower after a long day on our feet. We had a private couples area curtained off, which was nice. Once the massage started, my bodily strains started to melt away. The Inka-style massage was a combination of different worldly techniques: Thai, Swedish, Champi, Shiatsu and reflexology. All I can say is that my husband and I enjoyed our massages. We were not concerned with technique. We were just happy to feel comfortable, clean, and rejuvenated post-massage.

This place was budget-friendly, but I must also note that you get what you pay for. There were noises of people chatting in the hallway heard beyond the curtain on and off, and the facilities were very basic. This was the only massage place I went to, but from looking into other massage parlors from the outside, other locations offered less or about the same level of service and amenities.

Visa or Mastercard accepted.
