One of the most beautiful visions I've ever seen, especially at sunset. It's managed so well and kept so pristine. Definitely a must-see attraction in the UAE.

The Grand Sheik Mosque where you cannot believe the richness and beauty found here
you have to enter bare foot and wear their chosen long robes
you ll only be able to see part of the Mosque but it’s more then enough

Visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a must while in Abu Dhabi. The architecture is beautiful. Be sure to wear light fabric clothing that covers your arms and legs. Women will also have to cover their hair.

I’ve seen quite a few places in my life. The architecture of this establishment was beyond gorgeous. I recommend going from 1700-2100 for the best views and transitions of the sun and lighting. You’ll be speechless. Remember to use your PANO and PORTRAIT settings on iPhone for best pictures!

The largest mosque in Dubai and one of the most stunning attractions worth a visit if you’re in the Middle East. This mosque houses the largest chandelier in the Middle East. There is not entrance fee, but women make sure you are totally covered up from head to toe or you won’t be able to enter. You can also borrow a burqa there if necessary.

This is a massive impressive Mosque and a must place to visit. They keep the site immaculate which is nice since you need your shoes off.

Abu Dhabi is a lot more conservative than Dubai, and nowhere is it more obvious than when you visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Female visitors are expected to cover themselves from head to toe, and are typically directed to a dressing area to put on an abeya. If you are on a a short day tour, this will cut into your sightseeing time at the mosque. Make sure you keep yourself covered throughout your visit, or you will be reprimanded by the guards and ordered to delete the pictures in your camera.

Apart from the restrictive atmosphere, the mosque is a strikingly beautiful modern structure. Huge, ornate chandeliers hang from the ceilings. Worth a day trip from Abu Dhabi.

The most beautiful and opulent Mosque in the UAE. Please be respectful of the Muslim culture and ensure you are fully covered when entering including tattoos. For women, you must wear a hijab and abaya. They actually provide one for women to borrow free of charge, they just hold onto your ID and return it once you return the garment. Also please be mindful that Friday is the holiest day in the Muslim religion so you won't be able to visit the mosque of you are not Muslim.

Fantastic, beautiful, stunning, delicate, artistic, enormous, the words cannot describe this beautiful building standing proud and majestic.
From the stunningly white marble domes and walls, delicately carved doors and ceilings to the mosaic floors and decorated columns this stunning Grand Mosque is a must see in Abu Dhabi!

Incredibly impressive. Best to join one of the free guided tours to get better access to the Mosque and benefit from their great insight into the Mosque, Sheik Zayed and Islam in general.

Absolutely fantastic! Great architecture and design. A must see if you will go to Abu Dhabi. A couple of reminders: Dont forget to catch the free tour guide of the mosque! And guys please be sensitive with dress codes, dont go there wearing short skimpy attire. Its a place of worship not a dance club

Stunning modern marvel and the highlight of Abu Dhabi. Truly a serious challenge to the Taj Mahal.

The official tours are a great introduction and will give you access beyond the velvet ropes. Hours are limited. An absolute must see. Arrive first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds. Bring sunglasses -- the white marble is highly reflective and almost blinding.

The Library and Mausoluem may also be visited but the mosque itself is the main attraction.

Shaikh Zayed's Mosque is impressive. It's not old and there's no love story wrapped up in it like the Taj Majal but it is astounding nevertheless. Rumor has it that a year before completion, the Shaikh got a phone call from a Saudi Iman asking him to scale back the size of it so as to not make the mosque in Mecca pale in comparison. It does anyway but at least it's not bigger. Guided tours and modest clothes available on site.

New YORK!

It's huge! It's white! It's glittering and gold! It's sort of like the Vegas of mosques (check out that chandelier, the largest in the world...), but it also is undeniably beautiful. A huge plus: the guides who show you around are real, live Emiratis (who are hard to find and interact with on a typical tourist day), and open to all kinds of questions. Worth going to Abu Dhabi just for this. (Book nerds: there's a very nice little library in one of the minarets.)

This is the largest mosque in UAE and among the largest in the world. Billions were spent and it shows - white marble, gold leaf, Swarovsky crytal, Turkish tiles, semi-precious inlays modeled on Taj Mahal. The carpet inside the prayer hall is the largest Persian carpet in the world. There is a strick dress code for both men and women. You will have to rent an abaya (women), if your legs aren't covered. Bring a scarf, wear long slacks and long sleeves. Men must also wear long pants and sleeves. Photography is permitted everywhere inside. Allow up to an hour for the visit.
