Air Berlin flights depart from Terminal 1 while Lufthansa fly from Terminal 2. Terminal 1 is the smaller of the two terminals. The departure lounge has a handful of shops including a Checkout magazine shop, Spanish designer brand Desigual and a shop selling duty free goods. There's a good selection of places to eat, including the Coca Cola Bar which has a beer garden.
Terminal 2 has a wide variety of designer and high-street shops including Bobbi Brown, Burberry and Etro. There's also an FC Bayern Munich shop, if you want to pick up some footie related souvenirs. There's a good range of places to grab a bite to eat. Enjoy a final taste of Bavarian cuisine at the Adelholzener Bar, some 100% organic bites at Bistro Organic, or a glass of bubbly at Furstener Lounge.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Tegel Airport only has one building. Once you make your way through the labyrinthine building you'll find the bus stops and taxi rank. If you're taking the bus into town you will need to purchase an AB ticket from the machine. There are two airport buses, which stop at the city's two main transport hubs. If you're staying in the west of the city (Charlottenburg, Ku'damm, or Schoeneberg) take the bus to S+U Zoologischer Garten for onward transport. If you're staying in the east (Mitte, Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain) take the bus to S+U Alexanderplatz. Car hire is another option. Driving around Berlin is fairly easy as the roads are wide and Germans are usually calm and defensive drivers. Just watch out for the ubiquitous cyclists. You don't need a passport to fly between Munich and Berlin. We recommend that British citizens bring their passport anyway. Aim to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart.
