Airlines that fly from Manchester to Gatwick

Ryanair and Easyjet serve flights from Manchester to Gatwick, these have one connection in either Dublin or Belfast.

There are no direct flights from Manchester to Gatwick Airport, however if you would prefer to fly to London direct there a number of daily flights from Manchester to Heathrow Airport available.

Terminal Information

You should arrive at the airport at least one hour before your domestic flight, both Ryanair and EasyJet offer online and mobile check-in in advance so you can save time when you arrive at the airport and proceed straight through to security.

Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport has three terminals, Easyjet flights depart from Terminal 1, Ryanair flights depart from Terminal 3.

Terminal 1 offers the best shopping experience at Manchester Airport with a host of popular shops located within the departures lounge including Bobbi Brown, Paperchase, Attitude Designer Fashion and Clarins. Places to eat and bars within the terminal include Mi Casa Burritos, Bar MCR, Giraffe and Starbucks.

Terminal 3 at Manchester Airport is home to the majority of domestic flights leaving the airport with a small number to cover all of the essential last minute purchases. These are Accessorize, Boots, Biza, Dixons, Swatch and Rolling Luggage.  A small choice is available when it comes to places to eat with Costa, Pork and Pickle, Trattoria Milano, The Lion and the Antelope and Upper Crust.

For those enjoying the duty free shopping available from the departure lounge an additional bag policy is in operation. In addition to your hand luggage you can take a standard sized shopping bag from the airport on board with you.

One hour of free Wi-Fi is available within the terminals to stay connected whilst waiting to board your flight.

Gatwick Airport

Flights with EasyJet typically arrive in the South terminal, with Ryanair flights arriving in the North terminal. A shuttle train is available at regular intervals throughout the day between the two terminals which takes approximately 2 minutes.

A train station is located at the South terminal, from here you can catch the Gatwick Express direct into London which operates every 15 minutes, taking 30 minutes to reach Victoria station. Alternatively car hire from Gatwick Airport is available with car hire companies such as Hertz, Avis and Sixt from the North terminal.

Practical Information

For domestic flights within the UK, a passport is not required and a number of forms of photo identification are considered acceptable such as a driving licence.

What to expect in London

Despite coming from the busy city of Manchester, London has a few key differences which you will notice when you arrive. The general cost of accommodation and eating out can be significantly more expensive than what you would expect in the north of England. Due to the size of the city you may also find getting between the attractions can be quite costly.
