Scandinavian Airlines and Easyjet both provide direct flights from Manchester to Copenhagen.
There are three terminals at Manchester Airport. Both Scandinavian Airlines and Easyjet flights depart from Terminal 1. The airport advises passengers travelling to Copenhagen to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time. Check in is available in advance online with printable boarding passes or the EasyJet app which stores the boarding passes.
There is a great range of facilities at Terminal 1, the airport’s biggest terminal. Passengers will find currency exchange desks, internet kiosks and an extensive duty free store. Other shopping options include Boots, WHSmith, Accessorize, Pandora and Bobbi Brown whilst food and drink can be found at Burger King, Giraffe or The Grain Loft bar and restaurant.
To enhance your airport experience, you can purchase a Fast Track pass to skip security. This allows you to bypass the queues at security and proceed to the departures lounge more quickly. The Escape Lounge is also available for a set fee. This premium lounge offers complimentary refreshments, free Wi-Fi and a quiet place to relax and unwind before your flight.
Copenhagen Airport is located 8 kilometres south of Copenhagen city centre. The airport has two main terminals, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Easyjet flights arrive to Terminal 2 and Scandinavian Airlines flights arrive to Terminal 3. The two terminals are part of the same building and can be reached on foot. In the arrivals hall there is an information centre and a good selection of shopping and food options.
There are a number of car hire companies operating at Copenhagen Airport. They are all located in Terminal 3 and include Europcar, Avis, Hertz, Budget, Sixt and Enterprise.
Other ground transportation options include taxi, metro and train, all of which are accessed via Terminal 3. Taxis drop off at both Terminals 2 and 3 but will only pick up passengers outside Terminal 3. The metro station is located at the far end of Terminal 3. The metro provides a route into Copenhagen centre, leaving every 5 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes at night. Passengers will also find a ticket office for the train in Terminal 3 and the station downstairs from the arrivals hall.
What to Expect in Copenhagen
Copenhagen enjoys a mild climate all year round. July and August are the hottest months with temperatures reaching into the twenties. However, it’s the summer months that also have the most rainfall. Winters are a little colder in Copenhagen than in Manchester but they are still relatively mild with very little rain.
Denmark is part of the EU but it isn’t part of the common currency. It still uses the Danish krone rather than the Euro.
The cost of living in Copenhagen is generally a little more expensive than in Manchester. However, public transport is one of the few places where you will spend less than you would back at home.
