Terminal Information – Departing

easyJet flights depart from Manchester Airport's Terminal 1. There's a small but good selection of shops if you enjoy a bit of retail therapy before your flight. High street favourites Fat Face, Monsoon and Boux Avenue all have an outpost in Terminal 1. Biza Duty Free is a great place to pick up some tax free goodies, and you can grab some snacks and reading for the flight at WHSmith.

If you're feeling hungry there's a good range of eateries in this terminal. You can enjoy a sit down meal at Giraffe or The Grain Loft, have a quick bite at Starbucks or Upper Crust, or just chill with a drink and some nibbles at Bar MCR.

For a bit of luxury you can book into the Escape lounge. Lounge access starts £19.99* if you book in advance. This includes unlimited Wi-Fi, premium snacks and drinks, and comfy seats where you can kick back until your gate is called.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Schoenefeld Airport only has one terminal. Berlin is an absolutely massive city, with a huge urban sprawl. It's a good idea to know exactly where you're going before trying to navigate the public transport system. You can do this online before you fly, or by using one of the many free smartphone apps.

The train station is about 5 minutes walk away and is well signposted. From here you can catch S-bahn and regional trains into the city. The queues at the ticket machines in the corridor can be quite long: we recommend going straight to the platform and buying your ticket from the machines up there. You will need an ABC ticket to reach the city centre, as the airport is in zone C. These tickets cost €3.30* (about£2.30). Remember to stamp your ticket before getting on the train: if your ticket hasn't been stamped you could be fined €50* (just over £35).

Lots of buses also stop outside the airport. These are perfect for connecting to the underground (U-bahn).

Most of the major car rental companies have a base at the airport. If you prefer to drive yourself, compare car hire at Schoenefeld Airport.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to travel to Germany from the UK. It needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay. If your passport has been extended for 12 months by a British Embassy or Consulate it's fine to travel to Germany on.
