Terminal Information – Departing
Flybe leave from Manchester Airport's Terminal 3. It's a small terminal, but there's a good selection of shops and places to grab a refreshment. As well as an Accessorize, there are the usual airport stores World Duty Free, Dixons Travel, and Boots. If you fancy a quick coffee and a sandwich you can grab them at Costa, Caffe Nero, and Upper Crust. For a more substantial meal pop into Trattoria Milano.
If you arrive at the airport early or just prefer a bit of extra luxury, you can book into the Escape Lounge. The lounge has unlimited Wi-Fi, which is great if you have a bit of work to do before your flight to Aberdeen. Complementary snacks and drinks are also available. Access to the lounge costs £19.99* if you book in advance, and is a little more expensive if you pop in on the day.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Aberdeen International Airport only has one terminal. Onward travel options are well signposted from the arrivals hall. There's a taxi rank outside the terminal, and it costs about £15* for a cab into the city centre. The journey should take about 25 minutes, but in heavy traffic it can be a little longer. Buses are also available. The 727 runs between the airport and the bus station and tickets cost £2.90* for a single ticket. There's also First Bus, the 27, which goes to Guild Street bus station.
If you're planning a self drive holiday you'll find the car hire centre to the left, through the covered walkway, when you leave the terminal. All of the major car rental companies have a desk at the airport. With Skyscanner you can compare car hire at Aberdeen Airport to get the best deal.
You don't need your passport to travel within the UK. You will need some form of photographic ID, such as a driving license, in order to board your flight. As always we recommend giving yourself plenty of time at the airport. Arrive no later than one hour before your flight is due to depart, or ideally two hours before departure.
What to expect in Aberdeen
Aberdeen is a lot more expensive, with a three course meal for two costing about £15 more than it would in Manchester. Although the average summer temperature is fairly similar to that of Manchester, Aberdeen is well known for its high winds and driving rain. Like most cities in the British Isles the weather can be unpredictable. As well as packing your windcheater and a strong umbrella, if you're visiting during summer you should also bring some shorts and t-shirts just in case.
