Terminal Information – Departing

Liverpool Airport has one terminal. There's a good range of shops in the departure lounge. Pick up some luxuries at World Duty Free or a new swimsuit from JD Sports. Obey Your Body sells holistic beauty products, and there's a Boots if you need to stock up on sunscreen. Remember to pick up some poolside reading at WHSmith. If you're taking the red-eye flight and are feeling a bit bedraggled, stop in at Heidi & Pearl Blow Dry and Beauty Bar. You'll be back to your best in no time. There are nine places to grab a bite to eat at the airport. Whether you're in the mood for pub grub, coffee and cake, or a quick sandwich, you'll find something to suit. For a bit of extra luxury, check in to the Aspire Lounge. The lounge offers a comfortable spot away from the general hubbub. Expect unlimited Wi-Fi and a range of complimentary snacks and drinks.

Lots of people hire a car when they're visiting the Costa Blanca, and you'll find all of the major car hire desks inside the arrivals hall. Remember to compare car hire at Alicante Airport before you fly to get the best deal. Public transport is also available from the airport. The bus stops are outside the departures area, above arrivals. You can take bus C-6 to Alicante bus station which takes about 20 minutes. From here you can take local buses to the major resorts and towns.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly from Liverpool to Alicante. Aim to arrive at least two hours before scheduled departure.

What to expect in Alicante

Alicante is one hour ahead of Liverpool and the currency is the Euro (€). Alicante is the gateway to the Costa Blanca, a region of Spain that people love for the mild temperatures and low prices. During the summer the temperature sits around 26°C, but can easily become hotter. During the winter it's cooler at 12°C but still a fab destination for winter sun. Alicante is cheaper than Liverpool so you can expect your money to go further. Staff in hotels and resorts can all speak English, but we recommend learning a few Spanish phrases if you're planning on venturing into the countryside.
