San Francisco International Airport is located 13 miles south of San Francisco in San Mateo County. The airport has 4 terminals, one of which, the International Terminal (Terminal-I) is dedicated to international flights and is the destination for all direct flights to San Francisco from London.
The AirTrain at San Francisco Airport offers free transport around the airport between each of the terminals, the San Francisco Airport Car Rental Center and the BART Station. The BART station is the rail link between the airport and the city centre. Taxis and 5 bus routes are also available from the airport.
British passport holders can travel to the US for up to 90 days without the need for a visa thanks to the US Visa Waiver Programme. An ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) form must be completed online before travelling to ensure you get authorisation to travel to the US.
