Airlines that fly from London to Pisa

Ryanair, EasyJet and British Airways all provide direct flights from London to Pisa. Ryanair flights depart from London Stansted whilst EasyJet and British Airways flights depart from London Gatwick.

Terminal Information

London Gatwick

London Gatwick has both a North and South terminal building. British Airways flights to Pisa depart from the North Terminal and EasyJet flights depart from the South Terminal. Passengers travelling to Europe from both terminals are advised to arrive two hours before their scheduled flight departure time.

Both terminals are home to an array of shopping, food and drink outlets. Holiday essentials and little luxuries can be picked up from WHSmith, Boots, Ted Baker or Harrods, and there’s a great range of refreshments available from outlets like Wetherspoon, Costa Coffee, Burger King, Frankie & Benny’s and Jamie’s Italian.

Premium lounges are also available in both terminals. For a fee, passengers get complimentary refreshments, free Wi-Fi and a quiet place in which to relax before their flight.

Stansted Airport

London’s Stansted Airport has just one terminal. The airport advises passengers to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time.

Fast track passes are available for £3.50 for passengers who wish to avoid the queues at security and get to the departures lounge quickly. The departures lounge is home to a variety of shops and eateries. There’s Boots, WHSmith, Next, Hamleys and a duty free store. Food and drink options include Starbucks, Burger King and a Wetherspoon pub.

Pisa Airport

Pisa Airport is located just a kilometre south of Pisa city centre. The airport has just one terminal.

In the arrivals hall, passengers will find a cafeteria, a few shops, a tourist information office, an internet station and a currency exchange. There are also bus ticket offices. Outside the terminal building, there are bus stops and a taxi rank. Taxi fares into the city centre range from €6.00 to €10.00 and are calculated according to the meter.

Passengers looking to hire a car should make their way to the car rental facility, just 500 metres from the terminal building. It’s a five minute walk from the airport or, alternatively, passengers can take a car hire shuttle bus which stops rights outside the terminal building.

What to Expect in Pisa

Pisa enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. Temperatures often reach beyond 30°c during July and August and winter temperatures never drop below 0°c. Spring and autumn weather is warm although you may find it gets a little chilly in the evenings.

Prices in Pisa are generally a lot cheaper than in London, particularly if you’re getting around by public transport. A one way journey is likely to cost just €1.15 and even travelling by taxi is considerably less expensive. Eating out is a little cheaper than in London and you can expect to pay around €60.00 for a mid-range three course meal for two.
