Royal Air Maroc is the only airline providing direct flights from London to Casablanca. Flights depart from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports, arriving to Casablanca Mohamed V Airport.
London Heathrow is home to four terminals. Royal Air Maroc flights to Casablanca depart from Terminal 2. Passengers travelling on long haul flights to Morocco are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled flight departure time. You’ll find check-in desks for Terminal 2 located on the top floor of the terminal building.
The terminal is home to a wide variety of shopping outlets, from Hugo Boss to WHSmith, Burberry to Boots. Food and drink options include Costa Coffee, La Salle Restaurant and Bar and The Perfectionist’s Café.
Throughout the terminal, free unlimited Wi-Fi is available. Passengers can choose to pay a fee and upgrade to a faster service.
London Gatwick has both a North and a South Terminal. Royal Air Maroc flights to Casablanca depart from the North Terminal. If you are arriving at the airport by train you will be in the South terminal and can reach the North via the free shuttle train which takes a couple of minutes.
In the departures lounge, there’s a great selection of shops, with high street favourites and more exclusive brands including World Duty Free, Boots, Hugo Boss, Ted Baker, Harrods and Dune. When it comes to food and drink you will find popular names such as Starbucks, Wetherspoon pubs, Comptoir Libanais, Jamie’s Italian and Jamie’s Bakery.

Casablanca Mohamed V Airport
Casablanca Mohamed V Airport is located 30 kilometres south of Casablanca city centre. There are three terminals at the airport with all international Royal Air Maroc flights arriving to Terminal 2.
Passengers travelling from the airport to the city by public transport will find a train station located on level -1 of Terminal 1. Trains depart for Casablanca city every hour, the journey takes around half an hour and tickets cost MAD30.00. These trains run between 6:50 and 22:50 every day. Alternatively, the bus company CTM also provides a service between the airport and the city, with journeys taking around an hour.
There’s a taxi rank just outside the arrivals area. You can expect to pay around MAD200.00 for a journey into the city centre.
What to Expect in Casablanca
Casablanca enjoys a Mediterranean climate and warm weather throughout the year. Average temperatures reach the mid-twenties in summer months and rarely drop into single figures in the winter. Rainfall is minimal and almost non-existent from June to September. However, if you’re travelling between November and January, you may experience the occasional shower.
The currency of Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham. Prices in Casablanca are much cheaper than in London. A mid-range three course meal for two is likely to cost around MAD150.00 (£10.50), a bottle of beer will cost around MAD22.50 (£1.60) and a one way journey on public transport will cost just MAD6.00 (£0.43). Remember that haggling is the norm in Moroccan markets so, if a price isn’t displayed, you may be able to get yourself a bargain.
