Glasgow Airport

You should arrive at Glasgow Airport at least one hour before your flight to Leeds is scheduled to depart. Flybe offer a range of convenient check in options, from check in online up to two hours before your flight which requires you to print your boarding pass, mobile check in or check in at the airport. Flybe check-in desks open 2 hours before your flight and are located in the man check-in hall.

For some pre-flight shopping, passengers are spoilt for choice at Glasgow Airport, with shops including World Duty Free, Victoria's Secret, Maplin, Sunglass Hut, Boots and Accessorize. The free Shop & Collect service is available to passengers travelling within the UK and EU – shop before you fly and pick your shopping up on your return. Leeds Airport

Leeds Bradford Airport is located 10 miles north-west of the city centre. In the arrivals hall you'll find Caffe Ritazza, WH Smith and a Travelex currency bureau.

Options for reaching the city centre include buses and taxis. City Link and Flying Tiger run bus services (the latter has power points and free Wi-Fi) to the bus station and railway station, taking around 35 minutes one way.

Arrow Cars private hire taxi company is located directly outside the terminal building. You can book online or via the Arrow Cars app, or in the taxi office. Cars can take up to 8 passengers and there's the option to pay by cash or card.

Car rental desks are located opposite domestic arrivals in the main terminal building and include Avis, Hertz, Europcar and Enterprise.

What to expect in Leeds

Leeds is ideally situated for those wishing to explore the delights of the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District, whilst also being close to Harrogate and York. The city itself is fairly compact, so the best way to see the sights is on foot – the city centre is mostly pedestrianised. The weather here isn't that different from Glasgow; perhaps a few degrees warmer, with winter temperatures ranging from around 3ºC to 10ºC and summer highs reaching around 22ºC.

Dining out in Leeds is generally fairly affordable, and the city is home to a number of value-for-money curry houses serving up exotic dishes as well as the usual popular curries. In the city centre, you'll find everything from takeaway chains to independent cafes and gastropubs where you can enjoy a snack or a heartier meal.
