Terminal Information – Arriving
Galsgow Airport only has one terminal, and from here it’s easy to find onward transportation into the city centre. The 500, First 77, McGills 757 and Citylink 915 buses all operate service to Galsgow City Centre costing from £6.50 per person for a one way ticket. Open Return tickets are also available from £9.00 for an adult ticket.
There is a taxi rank outside the terminal building. The approximate fare from Glasgow Airport to the city centre is £21.70.
You don’t need to bring your passport with you when you’re flying within the UK. Some form of official photographic ID is required, so bring your driving license instead.
There are printers in the check-in area of East Midlands Airport, so there’s no need to panic if you forget to print your boarding pass. If you have a smartphone you store your boarding electronically on your phone so you don’t need to worry about paper at all.
We recommend giving yourself plenty of time at the airport, so try not to arrive any later than one hour before your flight is due to depart. Queues at security are longer at weekends and during school holidays, so it’s worth giving yourself some extra time.
What to expect in Glasgow
Glasgow is not the most expensive city in Scotland although it may be more expensive than those in the East Midlands. An average three course meal in Glasgow will set you back about £38 but there is a great choice of places to eat ranging from bargain eats to fine dining. The weather in Glasgow is notoriously poor. Rain is a common feature all year round so waterproof and umbrellas are a must. The summer is very changeable with some sunshine, but usually more rain. Winters are cold and damp with a chilly coastal wind. A jumper is a must.
