Air India, AirAsia India, and Vistara flights to Goa leave from terminal 3 while GoAir, IndiGo, and SpiceJet flights to Goa leave from Terminal 1D.
Terminal 3 has all of the amenities you need before travelling such as ATMs, drinking fountains, a parent’s room, and plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop. Shopping options include international brands like Mango, Reebok, and Swarovski as well as British high street brands like WH Smith and Marks & Spencer. Free WiFi is available in Terminal 3 for 45 minutes.
Dining options at Terminal 1 include a Costa Coffee, Bakers Street Express, and Freso Co Express. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s also Cookie Man or the upscale chocolatier Chokola. For shopping, there are several well-known brands including United Colors of Benetton, Sunglasses Hut, and Relay as well as Indian brands like Fabindia and Hidesign.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Goa International Airport, also known as Dabolim Airport, is located 18 miles from Panaji and 2.4 miles from Vasco de Gama. Buses go to and from the city centre however they are not very regular and are often crowded. The closest railway station to the airport is Dabolim Rail Station, which is about half a mile away. From here you can get trains to Margao and Vasco-da-Gama, two of the major railway stations in the area. Taxis are available outside of the Airport arrivals area. There is also a pre-paid taxi booth outside of the terminal which offers fair, fixed rate cabs to nearby destinations. The journey time by taxi to Panaji city centre is around 40 minutes.
Practical Information
Although this is a domestic flight we recommend bringing your passport. You'll be asked to show some photographic ID when you check in and usually before you board the flight. Aim to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart.
What to expect in Goa
Goa is a smaller, less populated state with Portuguese colonial influences. With long sandy beaches and laid-back fishing villages, most visitors find it more relaxed than Delhi. For most of the year, Goa is typically a couple of degrees cooler than Delhi. In June, July, and August, for example, temperatures in Delhi average between 30-32 °C while in Goa temperatures range between 28-29 °C. From October until April, however, Goa is typically warmer. In December, the average temperature in Delhi is 15 °C compared with 27 °C in Goa.
