Terminal Information – Arriving
The airport arrival halls are located in terminal 1. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat once you arrive. We hope you're ready for your close up: Hong Kong Airport has huge plasma screens in the arrivals hall showing passengers who are coming through the buffer zone, so friends and family can prepare to welcome them home. Hong Kong Airport has good connections to the city centre. The Airport Express is the fastest: tickets cost $100* (just over £9). There's also a taxi rank immediately outside the terminal. You can expect to pay about $250-350* (about £22.60-£31.70) for a taxi downtown. Taxis are metered, so prices will vary depending on where exactly you're going. Another option is car hire from Hong Kong International Airport: remember to compare prices with Skyscanner.
You need a valid passport to visit Hong Kong. British citizens can visit Hong Kong for up to six months without a visa: although you will need a visa if you're planning to work or study. We recommend arriving at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart.
