Cheap flights carrier Wizz Air will launch new flights to Milan Bergamo and Eindhoven after expanding its Gdansk base.
The airline is expected to add a third aircraft at the Polish airport, which will also allow it to increase flight frequencies on its existing routes.
An Airbus A320 will begin operations from the airport on December 17th following its arrival from the manufacturer’s factory in Toulouse.
In addition to the new flights, Wizz Air will operate nine flights to Dortmund a week, which is an increase from the existing daily frequency.
It will also increase its number of flights to Hamburg, Glasgow Prestwick, London Luton, Oslo Torp and Stockholm.
John Stephenson, Wizz Air’s executive vice president, said the airline was "very pleased" to be increasing its capacity from Gdansk.
"With placing a new aircraft we will be able to grow almost 50 percent in 2010 versus 2009," he explained.
"You can expect us to be offering more new routes and more low fares going forward."
The airline will introduce flights to Rome from Bratislava on September 4th.
