Spain is the most popular summer destination for Brits followed by France, Italy, the USA and Turkey according to new data released by Skyscanner.
The UK itself is the favourite place for the Spanish, American and Polish tourists to visit, and the second favourite for Germans.
The data provides an interesting insight into the holidaying habits of Europeans and Americans. As recently reported by Skyscanner, the UK is expecting to experience a growth in foreign visitors this summer due to the favourable exchange rate for those spending Euros, and the data supports this trend.
Overall, across all nationalities Spain, the UK and Italy are the most popular summer destinations searched for on Skyscanner.
Barry Smith, Skyscanner co-founder and director said:
“Skyscanner’s data shows that the Brits are still in love with Spain, France and Italy despite the stronger Euro. The UK itself is very popular with US Americans, Spanish, Polish and Germans this summer.
“The comical image of Brits and Germans battling it out for prime poolside space could well be true as Spain is the most popular destination for both Germans and Brits this summer. If you want to avoid the sun lounger struggle, you’re better off visiting Portugal or Cyprus, which don’t feature in Germany’s top ten.”
