The carrier hopes to begin operating daily flights from Stansted to Istanbul by 2010, at which point it wants to expand its routes out of its Birmingham and Manchester hubs.
General manager, Sertac Haybat, explained that the increased frequency of flights is an effort to meet increased demand for routes between the two countries.
He suggested that Pegasus was in a good competitive position for such an increase because it flies to Sabiha Goken rather than Ataturk, so takes its passengers closer to the city centre, reports the Trade Travel Gazette.
Pegasus Airlines recently announced details of its winter schedule, which included flights to Turkey from London, Cologne, Munich and Copenhagen.
The winter schedule is set to begin on October 26th and will run until March 29th.
