Stansted Airport has announced that it is gearing up for a host of new route launches, with the first having been introduced on Wednesday (April 1st).
The route to the Malaysian capital, which has onward connections to Australia, is the world’s longest low-cost long haul flight.
Nick Barton, Stansted’s commercial and development director, said he was "looking forward" to the "new exciting routes".
"[It’s] great news for anyone wanting to lift themselves out of the credit crunch blues and take advantage of fantastic flights on offer," he said.
From May, Aurigny will introduce flights to Jersey – a route that looks set to prove popular among both business and leisure passengers.
The London airport currently offers more scheduled connection across Europe than any other in the world.
Last month, the Duke of Edinburgh was present at Stansted to welcome Air Asia X’s inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur.
