A nonstop jet service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF) has been launched by American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines.
The service will be operated daily using 44-seat Embraer ERJ-140 jets, with flights scheduled to depart from DFW at 10:55 and arrive in Santa Fe at 11:45 local time.
Meanwhile, flights to Santa Fe from Los Angeles International Airport will also be provided by American Eagle Airlines from November 19th this year.
Commenting on the launch of the first jet service to New Mexico’s state capital in decades, Santa Fe mayor David Cross commented: "As a nationally-renowned tourist destination, Santa Fe has sought reliable commercial air service for many years.
"We are excited for American Eagle’s service in Santa Fe and thrilled about the travel and commerce opportunities this service brings."
American Airlines announced recently that no cash will be accepted on flights within the continental United States.
The move forms part of an effort by the airline to provide a more convenient service to customers while helping flight attendants.
