Newquay Cornwall Airport has officially opened its new executive lounge, which will cater for all passengers with business tickets.
Leader of Cornwall Council Alec Robertson officially opened the new facility, which will bring Newquay in line with other UK airports.
Mr Robertson said he was "delighted" to have been asked to open the executive lounge.
"This development marks another important stage in our plans to create a world class airport in Cornwall and I am sure that the new lounge will be well used," he commented.
The facility can cater for up to 24 business passengers who will benefit from work stations with broadband access in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
Constructed by Mansells, the executive lounge also offers a viewing area across the airport’s runway.
Airport project director Chris Cain said the facility demonstrated the council’s commitment to delivering an "enhanced passenger experience".
Air Southwest introduced flights to London City Airport from Newquay in April, reducing travel time to the capital to just over an hour.
