Low-cost airline Jet2.com will introduce more Saturday and Sunday flights to Geneva from Leeds Bradford Airport during the ski season.
On Saturdays from January 8th the carrier will operate two flights a day to Switzerland’s second-largest city, while the increase will take effect on Sundays from February 20th until April 16th.
The extra services are designed to appeal to Yorkshire’s ski and snowboard community, with Jet2.com also offering free ski and snowboard carriage for flights booked before October 31st.
Philip Meeson, Jet2.com’s boss, said that the timing of the additional flights will allow winter sports enthusiasts to "maximise their time on the slopes".
"To keep up with our customers’ ever increasing demand for ski breaks from Leeds Bradford Airport, we have doubled the capacity this coming season with 100 percent more weekend flights added to Geneva, the gateway to some of the best resorts in the Swiss and French Alps," he commented.
Last month, the airline announced Glasgow Airport as its eighth and newest base, which will see it launch flights to nine new destinations from the Scottish airport.
