US cheap flights carrier JetBlue Airways has introduced flights to San Francisco from its focus city of Fort Lauderdale.
The route, as well as establishing a link between California and southern Florida, provides connections with onward flights to Mexico, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, in addition to other Caribbean destinations.
Scott Laurence, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning, said the airline is "thrilled" to be able to offer passengers more travel options.
"Customers on this new route will enjoy not only the industry’s top amenities, like the most legroom in coach [and] unlimited free snacks and drinks, but also enjoy the warmth and spirit that makes the jetting experience so distinctive from what the other guys offer," he commented.
The route is operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft.
Last month, Jet Blue began daily non-stop flights to Kingston, Jamaica from New York.
Flights to Norman Manley International Airport represent the carrier’s second route to Jamaica, with a service to Montego Bay having already been established.
