Flybe announces interline ticketing partnerships

Low-cost carrier Flybe has announced a new interline e-ticketing partnership with three international airlines.

Passenger will be able to use one ticket to travel with Flybe and onwards to destinations served by Korean Air, US Airways and Singapore Airlines.

Luggage will only need to be checked once and connecting flights with the three carriers will open up the number of routes available from Flybe’s UK bases.

Stephen Hobday, head of sales at Flybe, said: "Our continued pursuit and implementation of interline e-ticket projects endorses Flybe’s commitment to increasing our interline partnerships.

It also enables our travel trade partners to issue more tickets to an even greater number of destination options and demonstrates our determination to expanding and strengthening our connecting route network."

Flybe already has interline agreements with eight other airlines including British Airways, Emirates and Brussels Airlines.

The partnerships have proved popular over recent months with Brazilian carrier VRG forging agreements with several European operators.

An interline deal brought Aegean Airlines, Air Moldova, CSA Czech Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Air Comet and Ukraine International Airlines into partnership with Brazilian flag carrier.

VRG’s latest ticketing partnership was announced just last week and brings Panama-based Copa Airlines to the fold. This will allow passengers to fly on VRG domestic flights and onwards to international destinations with Copa.
