Air Berlin will launch new flights to San Francisco from Dusseldorf as part of its 2010 summer schedule.
From next May, the airline will extend its range of long-haul flights by offering two flights a week to the Californian city, while Air Berlin will also introduce daily flights to New York and three weekly flights to Los Angeles.
During the summer, the carrier will operate five flights to Miami each week from the German city, while flights to Fort Myers will occur four times a week.
Air Berlin’s other north American route to Vancouver will operate twice a week, with all flights set to be operated using Airbus A330 aircraft.
Last month the airline announced it had entered into a co-operation with Bangkok Airways, which will allow passengers arriving in the Thai capital to book onward flights to Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and Phuket.
During the forthcoming winter schedule, Air Berlin will operate four non-stop flights to Bangkok from Dusseldorf, three non-stop flights from Berlin-Tegel and two non-stop services from Munich.
