Firefly launches new flight from Subang to Kerteh

Malaysian cheap flights airline Firefly has launched a twice-daily flight from Subang to Kerteh.

The flight, which came into effect on January 12th, is the first into Kerteh offered by a locally-based carrier.

It is the second destination to be served in Terengganu after Kuala Terengganu.

Eddy Leong, Firefly’s managing director, said the new flight signified the airline’s commitment to offering cheap, alternative travel for people in Malaysia.

"The main objective is to provide alternative transportation into and out of Kerteh that is economical, both in terms of time and money," he said.

"In addition, the Kerteh route will also add convenience to leisure travellers, as well-known tourism spots such as Kijal and Cherating is just a few minutes drive from the Kerteh airport."

Firefly is Malaysia’s first community airline and is a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines. It launched its first flight in April 2007 from its hub at Penang International Airport.
