Finnair opens Silver Wings Lounge

Finnair has opened the doors to its newly refurbished Silver Wings Lounge in Helsinki Airport.

The lounge has been completely renovated in order to improve security and boost ‘customer friendliness’.

Finnair has placed emphasis on space with the redesign, which provides easier access to amenities such as the cafe area, as well as comfortable armchairs for passengers to relax in.

Silver Wings is located above departure gates 26 and 26a and is the largest departure lounge in the Schengen area.

Some 6,500 passengers pass through the lounge each month, which offers a different food menu on a daily basis following the reopening.

Meanwhile, the carrier recently updated its services aboard its flights too, by upgrading to Phitek systems noise-cancelling headphone technology so passengers can have a peaceful journey on its routes.

The noise-cancelling headphones cut out external noise up to 22db.

Mark Donaldson, chief executive of Phitek Systems, added: "Our headphones also offer several unique features in design and servicing that simplify procurement and support."
