For all their allure, most countries in the Balkan region still remain relatively untravelled for the average Brit.
This means that much less has been written about countries like Macedonia, Montenegro or Serbia, than has been written about our favourite haunts of Spain, France and Italy, which can make researching a Balkan trip a little more tricky.
That is why for those of us wanting to explore this ‘off the beaten track’ region of Europe, Balkanology.com is such a useful place. Created and maintained by Alan Grant – a one man Balkan enthusiast – the well organised, rather handsome website offers information on all the Balkan countries based on the experiences of Mr Grant as well as contributions from other Balkan travellers.
