Zoom passengers offered alternative routes by Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic has thrown a lifeline to Zoom passengers left stranded after the airline went into liquidation.

Virgin Atlantic has thrown a lifeline to Zoom passengers left stranded after the airline went into liquidation.

Tickets will be offered on selected routes to the US from London, including flights from Heathrow to New York, Boston and Washington.

Flights to Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago will also depart from Heathrow, while seats on routes to Orlando will be available on flights from London Gatwick.

These specially selected routes will only be available as one-way express economy tickets however.

Zoom recently announced that following its liquidation, up to 80 per cent of its passengers can expect to receive refunds for tickets on cancelled flights.

Hugh Boyle, the carrier’s chairman, said: "We are trying to make as many passengers as possible aware of their options in terms of alternative flights and the possibility of securing refunds for the flights they booked with Zoom."
