European cheap flights carrier Wizz Air will launch new flights to Madrid after basing an additional aircraft at Sofia.
By establishing a third Airbus A320 aircraft in the Bulgarian capital, the airline will also be able to introduce flights to Paris Beauvais, Frankfurt Hahn and Forli Bologna from May 22nd next year.
These new routes will be operated on a three-times-weekly basis.
The basing of a new aircraft will also allow Wizz Air to increase frequencies on its existing flights to Eindhoven and Valencia to three and four a week respectively.
Central and eastern Europe’s largest low fares airline said that the expansion would go some way towards enabling it to carry 37 percent more passengers in 2010 compared to this year.
Wizz Air currently offers 14 routes from Sofia and enjoys 58 percent of the airline market share in the country.
It has a total of 11 bases, which are also located in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
From March next year, Wizz Air will introduce new flights from Prague after basing a third Airbus A320 at the airport.
