Cheap flights carrier Wizz Air has launched three-times-weekly flights to Prague from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Services depart at 12:50 (BST) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with flights being conveniently timed for those seeking a weekend break in the Czech capital.
Deputy chief executive of Peel Airports Neil Pakey said that flights to Prague were important in both the leisure and business markets.
"At a time when many airlines across Europe are cutting back on services, Wizz Air clearly recognises the opportunities to grow its business from here," he commented.
Prague is famed for its historic city centre and features sites such as Wenceslas Square, Prague Castle and Charles Bridge.
It also offers travellers a range of bars and cosy traditional restaurants, and is especially popular in the festive period thanks to its Christmas markets.
In addition to Prague, Wizz Air also offers flights to the Polish cities of Warsaw, Katowice and Gdansk from Liverpool.
The airport said earlier this month that passengers had been flying into Liverpool from all five continents following the launch of KLM flights to Amsterdam.
