European cheap flights carrier Wizz Air will launch new flights to Catania and Bologna (Forli) from Bucharest in the autumn.
Flights from the Romanian capital will serve the Italian destinations from September 21st and October 28th respectively.
The flights will operate on a twice-weekly basis, although this could later increase.
Wizz Air also announced that former Myair passengers intending to fly to Milan (Bergamo) from Bucharest would be able to rebook.
Low-cost airline Myair has had its licence suspended by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority, a decision which came into effect today (24th July).
Wizz Air, which is based in Hungary, operates 12 flights to Italy from its three Romanian bases of Bucharest, Cluj and Timisoara.
Elsewhere, the airline will be introducing flights to Memmingen Munich West and Venice Treviso from Katowice on September 22nd and September 29th respectively.
The routes will complement the existing 21 operating from the southern Polish city, which is known for its festivals, events and art galleries.
