Low-cost airline Jet2.com will commence new flights to Geneva from Edinburgh and Newcastle ahead of the 2011-12 winter sports season.
The services will take effect during peak winter travel times, with services from Newcastle remaining operational from December 26th until January 9th.
Flights from the Scottish capital will begin a little later on February 20th before the winter sports season draws to a close on March 27th.
Jet2.com boss Philip Meeson said the airline’s flights to winter ski destinations are "extremely popular" as many Brits are keen on getting their yearly fix of Europe’s mountain destinations.
"With this growing demand we have increased our services from the north for this season, giving people in the region an even greater choice of winter holiday destination," he commented.
Geneva is regarded as the perfect destination for ski and snowboard enthusiasts. Not only does it have world-class slopes nearby, the city itself is blessed with excellent restaurants, beautiful scenery and a variety of entertainment.
The carrier recently confirmed that its 2011 summer schedule from Manchester will take effect in April and May next year, with flights to Crete, Dubrovnik and Majorca expected to be among its most popular.
