A new website has published what it believes to be the top travel experiences for people in the UK looking to book a holiday in 2009.
David Wickers and Mark Hodson have set up 101holidays.co.uk, a website that combines their 40 years experience of travel writing for various national newspapers.
Commenting on its launch, Mr Wickers said: "We have pooled our knowledge of the holiday scene to make what had to be a ruthless cull.
"The site is simple: it aims to present choices of where to go, and which travel company does it best."
The website allows visitors to use a unique visual search to browse the selected 101 holidays, which range from adventure trips such as rafting down the Soca River in Slovenia to so-called holidays of a lifetime, such as the Orient Express to Venice.
According to Mr Hodson, the website puts the fun back into researching for a holiday because the process is made simple.
The Caribbean has already emerged as one of the most popular holiday destinations for Brits in 2009, according to figures from Virgin Holidays.
