Released by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the figures show that last year some 77 per cent of VLM Airlines’ flights from Amsterdam to London City Airport hit the punctuality target of departing no more than 15 minutes late.
Johan Vanneste, managing director of VLM Airlines, said: "It’s pleasing for everyone at VLM Airlines that our Amsterdam to London City service had such a strong year. To beat off other larger carriers in the process makes it all the more rewarding. Our business clientele, who traditionally represent around 80 per cent of our customer base, particularly value our high quality service and repeatedly return to us for our consistent punctuality."
Compiling Key Routes rankings from CAA data, aviation information specialist FlightOnTime.info shows that VLM Airlines’ London-Amsterdam performance is not only the best by a carrier on that particular route, but also one of the best on any busy route out of the capital.
The busiest domestic flight route, London-Edinburgh, was topped by a punctuality score of only 75 per cent (BMI), while the busiest long-haul route to New York could only offer 69 per cent punctuality from its best provider, EOS Airlines.
