London City Airport walked away with two awards at this week’s Docklands Business Club and East London Chamber of Commerce Awards gala dinner.
The Corporate Social Responsibility Award for the Docklands airport’s Take off Into Work initiative was presented to community and skills development manager Elizabeth Hegarty.
In addition, London City’s marketing communications director Tricia Handley accepted the Customer Focus Award, which recognised the airport’s proactive approach towards airlines and customers during the recession.
Richard Gooding, London City Airport’s chief executive, said the awards are testament to "an important understanding and interaction" with customers and the local community.
"The team skilfully continues to deliver standards of excellence for passengers and airlines, remaining respectful of community issues that we, as a responsible neighbour, can help by providing important support," he commented.
London City recently welcomed the addition of new fleets of aircraft and flights to Europe and New York.
On September 12th, British Airways launched double daily flights to Copenhagen from London City, while an additional service to the Danish capital will operate on Sundays.
