TAP will launch twice-daily flights to Valencia from Lisbon, becoming the eighth Spanish destination to be served by the airline.
This change will take effect on October 25th, bringing the total number of TAP daily flights between Portugal and Spain to 27.
Services will be operated using a 19-seat Beechcraft aircraft, with flights departing Lisbon at 08:00 and 19:20 (local time) before touching down in Valencia at 11:35 and 22:15 (local time) respectively.
TAP offers flights to a number of Spanish cities including the two largest Madrid and Barcelona in addition to Bilbao, Malaga, Seville La Coruna and Pamplona.
Flights, which amount to an average of 17 a day, leave from either Lisbon or Oporto.
The launch of the Valencia flights are a response to the challenges the airline has faced in the wake of the global economic downturn, which has caused a number of airlines to rethink their strategies for the future.
TAP said last month that increasing numbers of people are using its online check-in service.
