Thomas Cook announces new Birmingham routes

Travellers from Birmingham International Airport can now choose to jet off to the island of Skiathos in Greece and the city of Hurghada in Egypt thanks to new routes launched by Thomas Cook Airlines.

The airline now operates 36 destinations from Birmingham, and expects to carry nearly 200,000 travellers to holiday destinations around the world over the summer. The additions are part of the company’s summer flight programme and it is the first time that passengers in the West Midlands have had a direct flight to the Greek island.

Earlier this month, Ryanair added a new service from Birmingham to Marseille, France, which will run three times a week. The new route is one of a new wave of services which started in April with flights to Pisa, Italy and Gerona, Spain.
