Brits booking [flights to Dubai](Strengthening pound gives better value for money for UK holidaymakers), Jamaica and New York are getting excellent value for money during their holiday thanks to the strengthening pound.
This is according to foreign exchange company Travelex, which said the three destinations offer "red hot last minute deals".
The economic downturn experienced in Dubai in recent weeks has caused travel experts to recommend the emirate as a travel hotspot for this year, with the pound having increased in value against the dirham by seven percent compared to this time last year.
Travelex director Julian Neal said that travellers heading off during the new year can avoid being stung by heading to one of the three locations.
"The value of the pound against the dirham and both the US and Jamaican dollars means travellers will be much better off compared to this time last year," he explained.
Brits can currently get 24 percent more Jamaican dollars than January 2009, meaning the holidaymakers exchanging £500 can have the equivalent of an extra night in a three star hotel.
Separate Travelex research recently revealed that almost a quarter (23 percent) of holidaymakers travelling abroad last summer exceeded their holiday budget.
