The weekly service will commence later this month and is the first direct link from the Hungarian capital to the Middle Eastern city.
Services to Dubai International Airport will run alongside existing flights to the Middle East from Budapest. Passengers are already able to fly to Beirut, Cairo, Damascus and Tel Aviv with Hungarian flag carrier Malev, and to Amman with Royal Jordanian.
Dimitrios Gatsonis, business development director at Budapest Airport, said: "It is great news for our passengers who can not only reach Dubai in a few hours from Budapest, but also can fly to many other places of the world with only one stop on the way.
I’m also glad that Smart Wings decided to launch a long-haul flight, hopefully more carriers will follow and increase the number of overseas destinations."
In June, SkyEurope will add two weekly flights from Budapest to Trieste in Italy and several others carriers including clickair and Ryanair will increase the frequencies of their flights in and out of Hungary.
