powder.ski.JPGEurope has been hit by big snowfalls across the continent, with many resorts in the Italian and French Alps reporting over a meter of fresh snow since Friday – as a result, there’s great powder skiing to be had this week.

France – with almost a meter of the white stuff falling over the weekend, and sunnier weather now on its way, this week should prove to be excellent for powder skiing and snowboarding; despite the sun, the snow is being kept cool by temperatures well below zero.

Italy – many resorts in the Italian Alps and Dolomites have received between 50cm and a meter of fresh snow over the last few days, blanketing the mountains and providing great powder conditions for all. Overall, Italy has had an exceptional season, with higher than average snowfalls so far. Find cheap flights to Milan

USA – the western United states have also been blessed with large dumps of snow with up to a meter falling in several ski resorts meaning great qualiity powder is on offer this week. Find cheap flights to the USA

Best of the rest

Bulgaria – around 20cm of snow has fallen in Bansko and there’s more expected on the way for Bulgaria’s main resorts – so good conditions this week. Find cheap flights to Sofia

Norway/Sweden – around 30cm of fresh snow for several resorts in Norway and Sweden has improved conditions and provided some powder riding. Find cheap flights to Oslo and Stockholm

Andorra – light snow for the duty free principality has topped up the slopes; Party town Pas de La Casa reports all 28 of its lifts are open and not too busy. Find cheap flights to Toulouse
